Meet our Clerk's Department

Township Clerk:  Sue Whitehead

The Township Clerk is primarily responsible for Elections, Cemeteries, Budget, and Records Management. The Clerk is a voting member of the Township Board of Trustees.

Elections

State and Federal elections are held at the Franklin Township Hall, 4041 Monroe Road, Tipton. 

    Poll hours are: 7:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M.

General Election and Voter Registration Information

Are you registered to vote? Did you remember to change your address when you moved to your new community or address within the same community? You can register to vote or change your registration to the correct address at any Secretary of State office, County Clerk's office or by contacting the township clerk in person or by mail.

Franklin Township Precinct Location

School elections are conducted by the local school districts and voting takes place at the schools. School district and precinct information is printed on your voter identification card. State and national elections are held in even numbered years. Voting for National, State, and Local elections takes place at the following location:

    Tecumseh School District:    Community Center, 703 E. Chicago Rd., Tecumseh

    Onsted School District:        American Legion Hall, 333 Conner St., Onsted

    Clinton School District:        Clinton Township Office, 172 W. Michigan Ave.

 

Township Cemeteries

Franklin Township Owns Two Cemeteries   

    Franklin Cemetery, N. Tipton Hwy., Tipton (1/4 mi. north of M-50)

   Mill Cemetery, W. M-50, Tipton (near Elton Hwy) no new grave sites

Cemetery Fees

    Price per grave:     $300 for Residents

                              $500 for Non-Residents

The Township Clerk is responsible for Township cemetery records and grave sales. Cemetery rules are listed at each entrance to the Franklin Cemetery. For cemetery related concerns, please contact the Clerk, Sue Whitehead, at (517) 431-2848.
